The Committee on Campus Sustainability is a subcommittee of the Campus Planning Committee, with the following terms of reference:
- To formulate policies and strategies on the development of a sustainable campus based on the six guiding precepts of the Campus Master Plan (CMP) adopted by the University for the campus development for the years leading to 2021 and beyond, to provide general directions and guidelines for action plans, and to oversee their implementation to ensure compliance with the University's sustainability policies;
- To receive regular reports from relevant operation units/task forces on the progress of these action plans;
- To note sustainability publications of the University;
- To assess and review campus landscaping proposals in capital projects endorsed by the Campus Planning Committee;
- To promote awareness and communication on sustainability issues within the university community;
- To receive regular reports on non-compliance cases and potential non-compliance cases and their follow-up actions based on the 'Central Registry for Environmental Non-Compliance Cases' and to recommend remedial actions as and if necessary; and
- To undertake any other duties/functions on sustainability matters as may from time to time be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
